Samantha Mossuto
Samantha Mossuto is a PhD student in Bioengineering with a BS degree in Bioengineering from UCLA. Her research interests include soft bioelectronics, electrophysiology, and organoid models, with a focus on developing advanced bioelectronic platforms that enable the study and modulation of complex biological systems. She is passionate about integrating engineering and biology to create innovative technologies that improve our understanding of human physiology and disease.
Samantha’s work combines principles of bioengineering, electrophysiology, and tissue engineering to develop electronically integrated biological models that more accurately recapitulate human tissue function. She presented her research, “Engineering a 3D Electronically Integrated Human iPSC-Derived Neuromuscular System,” as an oral presentation at NEBEC 2026, highlighting her contributions to the development of advanced neuromuscular platforms for biomedical research. In recognition of her research accomplishments, she received the Northeastern Bioengineering Travel Award in 2026. Originally from San Diego, California, Samantha enjoys crafting, walking, hiking, thrifting, watching movies, and spending time at the beach in her free time.
