Isabella Nealy

Isabella Nealy is a Master’s student in Bioengineering with a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. Her research interests include tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, implantable and wearable electronics, and 3D printing, with a focus on developing innovative biomedical technologies that improve tissue repair, disease treatment, and patient care. She is passionate about integrating engineering principles with biology to create translational solutions that address unmet clinical needs.

Isabella’s work combines principles of biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, and bioelectronics to develop advanced platforms for regenerative medicine and therapeutic applications. She is particularly interested in designing next-generation implantable and wearable technologies that interface with biological systems to restore function and improve patient outcomes. Prior to joining the lab, she presented her research, “CREmedical: Noninvasive Transcranial Focal Electrical Stimulation (TFS) Modulates Human Epileptic Brain,” at the American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting in 2024. In recognition of her academic excellence and research potential, she was selected as a GEM Fellowship recipient in 2025. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Isabella enjoys reading, traveling, spending time at the beach, attending concerts, and dancing in her free time.
