Brooke Zhou is a Research Assistant with a strong interest in mechanobiology, glaucoma research, and extracellular matrix (ECM) biology. She earned her BS and MS in Bioengineering from Northeastern University. Her research focuses on understanding how mechanical and biochemical cues within the cellular microenvironment influence tissue function and disease progression, particularly in the context of ocular health and glaucoma.

Brooke is passionate about uncovering the mechanobiological mechanisms that drive changes in cellular behavior and contribute to disease development. Her work has been presented at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, where she presented her poster, "Collagen I and Fibronectin Enhance Mechanosensing in Schlemm’s Canal Cells on Stiffer Substrates." Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Brooke enjoys baking, weightlifting, and video editing in her free time.
